According to the National Association of Realtors, single women were responsible for buying approximately one out of five homes purchased in the country – a total of 1.7 million homes. Boomer women are living longer than their predecessors and tend to be better educated. 41% of boomers visit social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebok, but there’s a growing number of older adult-oriented sites such as Eons.com, BOOMj, reZOOM and Boomer Girl that are gaining in popularity and membership.
